About Townsend Smith Foundation

The Townsend Smith Foundation is a charitable organization working to build a hospice for North Halton. We are striving to provide access to palliative care for residents of our community, serving the needs of terminally ill people and their families. We believe in a community where every individual has access to a dignified and caring end of life journey.

With the support of the community the Townsend Smith Foundation (TSF) has been able to acquire centrally located property in North Halton and to engage experienced architects to support the design and schematic development phases of this important health care infrastructure project.

The volunteer Board of Directors have approved continuing the processes over the next several months. However, the Board of Directors is mindful that construction, which we hope will commence in 2025, cannot begin without further fundraising for the anticipated $25MM cost. Once the necessary community support is raised the year and half construction phase can begin.

We are excited for what comes next in the process of bringing the hospice into a reality and appreciate any and all support.

All proceeds from The HerQuest for Hospice Race will benefit the Townsend Smith Hospice Foundation.
